Arctic medical readiness — tested in sub-zero field operations with MOVES® SLC™ + MADM™.

During a 2025 Arctic medical training exercise in Alaska, military medical teams from NATO nations tested advanced care delivery in sub‑zero Arctic conditions. The exercise focused on medical readiness where terrain, climate, and limited infrastructure severely challenge casualty care.

MOVES SLC and MADM were deployed across live scenarios including cross‑country CASEVAC, Role 2 field hospital surgical lanes, and prolonged en route care aboard a field‑expedient hospital train. The goal was practical: determine whether life‑support and anesthesia capability could be established and sustained when conditions are unforgiving.

In temperatures reaching ‑8°C, MOVES SLC powered on normally and operated as expected, supporting ventilatory care while running on battery power. Anesthesia teams quickly adopted MADM, finding it intuitive to integrate into closed‑circuit workflows in expeditionary surgical settings.

The outcome reinforced a critical reality: modern military medicine demands systems purpose‑built for extremes. Legacy equipment revealed clear limitations, underscoring the need for modernization.
